Starting from the author’s autobiographical experience, the performance manifests itself as a totally open process, a danced discourse that investigates the memories and traces left on the body by the culture of control, violence and abuse. The project is intended as a series of “protest” actions, which arise from solitary and meditative practices. Mantric practices developed in the last months of social distancing, which arose to train the skin to release what it perceives to be withheld, pronounce wounds and expose the authentic “living body”, to offer one’s vulnerability as a condition through which to revolt. To replace rigid postures of defence and control with new postures that are fluid, permeable and transparent. The body becomes a symbol of a territory in which to direct the thought of care, and in these danced protests gives rise to a new instantaneous alphabet, a succession of gestures and actions as liberated forces.

Daniele Ninarello trained at the Rotterdam Dance Academy and has danced with internationally renowned choreographers including Bruno Listopad, Virgilio Sieni and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. His choreographic language focuses on constant research into movement that places the “living body” at the centre as a place for mediation. Since 2007 he has presented his creations at several national and international festivals, which, since 2010, have become part of the Anticorpi XL network in Italy and abroad thanks to the projects Les Reperages and Dance Roads with the support of Mosaic Dance/Festival Interplay. In 2013 he founded the Associazione CodedUomo to disseminate and promote his research work in Italy and abroad. Kudoku, made together with musician Dan Kinzelman, debuted at the Biennale Danza10 (Venice), and is among the projects selected for AEROWAVES TWENTY17, NID Platform and the Rencontres Chorégraphiques Seine-Saint-Denis France. STILL, a 2017 production, won the 2016 Prospective Dance Prize. In 2019 he debuted with PASTORALE, selected for the Network Anticorpi’s Residance XL action, at the Lavanderia a Vapore in Collegno. He is currently working on his new production Healing Together (working title), supported by Étape Danse, an international residency project coordinated by Mosaic Dance/Festival Interplay.
